Bonnier Publications launches new health magazine

MAY 2008

Women over 45 who wish to adopt a healthier lifestyle can now enjoy their very own lifestyle and special interest magazine. The magazine is called Sund Nu (Healthy now) and is published by Bonnier Publications in Denmark.

The magazine combines a unique range of feature articles on healthy eating and exercise with in-depth medical articles and solid advice on how to tackle the challenges that women meet at middle age, explains Sund Nu's Editor-in-Chief, Antje Gerd Poulsen, who, at the age of 48, belongs to the magazine's target age group.

“Wellbeing is not just about being healthy, but also about feeling great and having the energy to make the most of yourself. That’s why Sund Nu aims to cover a wide range. It’s important for us to communicate the understanding that a healthy lifestyle does not have to be synonymous with self-deprivation and self-inflicted torture. It should be pleasant and there should be room for enjoyment.”

On the background of the magazine, she says:
“Fortunately, more and more Danes are aware of the fact that our affluence can come with something of a drawback. Because of the high standard of living that we enjoy, we risk premature aging and developing lifestyle-related diseases. And this risk increases with age. That’s why many women my age are extremely motivated to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Sund Nu is a type of toolbox for these women. We zero in on their particular life situation and give them the knowledge, inspiration and strategies they need to get started and keep their motivation levels up."

Sund Nu came about through a comprehensive development process and was presented to a focus group that unanimously applauded Sund Nu as the magazine they had been waiting for. There is no equivalent magazine targeting mature women on the Danish media market.

Advertising space is now available in the new magazine. Bonnier Publications can document, based on experience in both Sweden and the United States that the magazine's readership constitutes a very strong consumer group that is motivated to invest in itself.
The new magazine is being launched with both single-issue and subscription campaigns and will be available on the market from the beginning of September.

Bonnier Publications previously released the special magazines I Form ("In Shape”) and Aktiv Træning (“Active Training”) and with the release of Sund Nu, Bonnier establishes itself as a leader in health-related media on the Danish market.
